Sony 4K 2D & 3D medical recorder adds DICOM Modality Work List support plus HD video input
Latest firmware update for HVO-4000MT 4K 3D recorder streamlines clinical workflows
Düsseldorf/Basingstoke,22 October, 2018 – Demonstrated on Stand H57 in Hall 10 at MEDICA this year (12-15 November) is a new firmware for the Sony HVO-4000MT 4K 3D recorder bringing fresh workflow benefits for busy clinical teams.
Available from December 2018, firmware Version 1.2.0 adds DICOM Modality Work List support. Saving time and reducing the risk of operator error, this allows direct access to patient name and ID plus other metadata from a Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) or other DICOM worklist servers.
Instead of manually typing metadata into the modality, the recorder’s operator simply selects a patient’s name or ID from a provided worklist which then automatically populates all required metadata fields. Images captured by the recorder can then be stored on the hospital’s Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Simplifying system integration and enhancing HD/4K workflows, the firmware update also adds a Full HD (1920 x 1080p) video signal input.
4K gives surgical teams a clearer picture
The Sony HVO-4000MT is a 4K, 3D and 2D medical grade video recorder that stores high quality video and still images from endoscopic/laparoscopic camera systems, surgical microscopes and other compatible modalities.
"The use of 4K imaging in the Operating Room is growing rapidly” observes Claire Brégeon, European Product Marketing Manager for Recorders, Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “With four times more detail than Full HD, the higher resolution of 4K creates a more immersive visual environment for surgeons. Enabling them to operate with greater confidence and accuracy, this contributes to improved patient safety, as well as enhancing the quality of medical education and training.
“The Sony HVO-4000MT is already firmly established as the most versatile, feature-rich 4K 3D medical recorder in its class. With the addition of DICOM Modality Work List support for a smooth metadata workflow and an HD input for flexible video integration, it’s now an even more compelling choice for clinical teams."
